Recap - Mountaineers Defeat Georgia Southern 27-3

Thomas Hennigan was good for 111 receiving yards on Saturday as the Mountaineers grabbed a 27-3 win over the Eagles at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Appalachian State won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -24.5-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 54.5.

Anderson Castle rushed for 31 yards, while Daetrich Harrington added 26 yards in the win. Thomas Hennigan and Corey Sutton added 111 and 55 receiving yards respectively.

Jalen White rushed for 38 yards for Georgia Southern, while Logan Wright added 27 yards. Connor Cigelske threw for 107 yards for the Eagles, while receivers Amare Jones and Jjay Mcafee had 56 and 26 yards respectively.

Georgia Southern was outgained by Appalachian State 329-194 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 15-12 by the Eagles.

Appalachian State lost the time of possession battle 34:35-25:25, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
