Recap - Trojans Defeat Rice 66-14
USC cruised to victory on Saturday, as they ran up a 66-14 score against Rice in Week 1 action at United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
USC was a favorite by -33.0 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 61.5.
Caleb Williams rushed for 68 yards, while Austin Jones added 48 yards in the win. Tahj Washington and Jordan Addison added 65 and 54 receiving yards respectively.
Cameron Montgomery rushed for 99 yards for Rice, while Dean Connors added 28 yards. Wiley Green threw for 69 yards for the Owls, while receivers Luke McCaffrey and Isaiah Esdale had 51 and 38 yards respectively.
Rice lost the offensive yardage battle to USC 538-280 yards in Saturday's game. USC had more first downs as that total ended up 27-14.
USC lost the time of possession battle 32:39-27:21, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
USC looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Stanford. Rice will aim to get back on the winning track vs. McNeese State.
