Maryland Defeats SMU 34-27 - Recap
Roman Hemby scampered through the SMU defense for 151 yards as Maryland handed the Mustangs a 34-27 defeat on Saturday at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
Maryland was the ATS victor, as they covered the -3.0-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 74.0 were rewarded at the payout window.
Roman Hemby rushed for 151 yards, while Taulia Tagovailoa added 51 yards in the win. Rakim Jarrett and Roman Hemby added 65 and 62 receiving yards respectively.
Tre Siggers rushed for 86 yards for SMU, while Velton Gardner added 22 yards. Tanner Mordecai threw for 369 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Rashee Rice and RJ Maryland had 193 and 51 yards respectively.
Maryland lost the offensive yardage battle to SMU 520-439 yards in Saturday's game. SMU had more first downs as that total ended up 30-16.
Maryland lost the time of possession battle 31:23-28:37, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Maryland takes its act on the road to face Michigan looking for another win. For SMU, they head home to face TCU.
