Cavaliers Fall 22-20 Against Syracuse - Game Recap
Oronde Gadsden II was good for 113 receiving yards on Friday as the Orange grabbed a 22-20 win over the Cavaliers at JMA Wireless Dome.
The Orange won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -10.0-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Sean Tucker rushed for 60 yards, while Garrett Shrader added 11 yards in the win. Oronde Gadsden II and Trebor Pena added 113 and 41 receiving yards respectively.
Perris Jones rushed for 87 yards for Virginia, while Brennan Armstrong added 29 yards. Brennan Armstrong threw for 138 yards for the Cavaliers, while receivers Keytaon Thompson and Dontayvion Wicks had 55 and 42 yards respectively.
Virginia lost the offensive yardage battle to Syracuse 352-287 yards in Friday's game. Syracuse had more first downs as that total ended up 20-17.
Syracuse led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:50-25:10 split in that important category.
Next game, Syracuse takes its act home to face Wagner looking for another win. For Virginia, they head on the road to face Duke.
