Recap - Seminoles Defeat Louisiana-Lafayette 49-17

The battle between the Seminoles and Ragin' Cajuns didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Louisiana-Lafayette was handed a 49-17 defeat on Saturday at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Florida State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -24.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 52.0.

Trey Benson rushed for 80 yards, while Lawrance Toafili added 46 yards in the win. Kentron Poitier and Camren McDonald added 45 and 32 receiving yards respectively.

Dre'lyn Washington rushed for 57 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette, while Terrence Williams added 40 yards. Chandler Fields threw for 159 yards for the Ragin' Cajuns, while receivers Michael Jefferson and John Stephens, Jr. had 60 and 35 yards respectively.

Florida State outgained Louisiana-Lafayette 440-291 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-18 by the Seminoles.

The time of possession battle favored Florida State as their offense was on the field for 30:44, longer than the 29:16 of their opponents.

Next game, Florida State takes its act home to face Florida looking for another win. For Louisiana-Lafayette, they head on the road to face Texas State.
