SMU Mustangs vs Tulane Green Wave Wrap - Tulane Wins 59-24
Tyjae Spears scampered through the SMU defense for 121 yards as Tulane handed the Mustangs a 59-24 defeat on Thursday at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium.
Tulane was the ATS victor, as they covered the -3.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 64.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Tyjae Spears rushed for 121 yards, while Shaadie Clayton added 75 yards in the win. Shae Wyatt and Tyrick James added 104 and 12 receiving yards respectively.
Tyler Lavine rushed for 82 yards for SMU, while Camar Wheaton added 29 yards. Tanner Mordecai threw for 298 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Tyler Lavine and RJ Maryland had 62 and 61 yards respectively.
Tulane lost the offensive yardage battle to SMU 470-451 yards in Thursday's game. SMU had more first downs as that total ended up 31-20.
Tulane lost the time of possession battle 33:46-26:14, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Tulane heads into a Week 13 battle against Cincinnati. SMU, meanwhile, will have their next action against Memphis.
