Toledo Defeats Eastern Michigan 27-24 - Recap
The Rockets grabbed a Week 9 victory over the Eagles on Saturday, winning 27-24 at Rynearson Stadium.
Toledo did not, however, defeat the Eagles against the spread, which closed at -4.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 54.0.
Jacquez Stuart rushed for 60 yards, while Peny Boone added 48 yards in the win. Devin Maddox and Mikel Barkley added 80 and 79 receiving yards respectively.
Samson Evans rushed for 88 yards for Eastern Michigan, while Jaylon Jackson added 21 yards. Dylan Drummond threw for 23 yards for the Eagles, while receivers Tanner Knue and Hassan Beydoun had 39 and 35 yards respectively.
Eastern Michigan was outgained by Toledo 374-217 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 20-17 by the Rockets.
Toledo lost the time of possession battle 36:07-23:53, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Toledo heads into a 11 battle against Ball State. Eastern Michigan, meanwhile, will have their next action against Akron.
