Blazers Down Charlotte 34-20 - Match Report
UAB got a 137-yard performance from DeWayne McBride as a key part of its 34-20 victory over the 49ers on Saturday at Protective Stadium.
UAB won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -21.5-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 65.0.
DeWayne McBride rushed for 137 yards, while Dylan Hopkins added 103 yards in the win. T.J. Jones and Trea Shropshire added 59 and 48 receiving yards respectively.
ChaVon McEachern rushed for 61 yards for Charlotte, while Shadrick Byrd added 37 yards. Chris Reynolds threw for 214 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Elijah Spencer and Taylor Thompson had 103 and 56 yards respectively.
Charlotte lost the offensive yardage battle to UAB 510-327 yards in Saturday's game. UAB had more first downs as that total ended up 28-12.
The time of possession battle favored UAB as their offense was on the field for 36:01, longer than the 23:59 of their opponents.
