Blazers Fall 20-17 Against WKU - Game Recap

L.T. Sanders scampered through the UAB defense for 120 yards as WKU handed the Blazers a 20-17 defeat on Friday at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Hilltoppers were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -1.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 60.5.

L.T. Sanders rushed for 120 yards, while Davion Ervin-Poindexter added 82 yards in the win. Malachi Corley and Daewood Davis added 77 and 26 receiving yards respectively.

DeWayne McBride rushed for 197 yards for UAB, while Jermaine Brown Jr. added 15 yards. Jacob Zeno threw for 33 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Samario Rudolph and Trea Shropshire had 59 and 27 yards respectively.

WKU outgained UAB 352-324 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 19-14 by the Hilltoppers.

UAB lost the time of possession battle 32:39-27:21, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

WKU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against North Texas. UAB will aim to get back on the winning track at Florida Atlantic.
