SMU Falls 28-11 to Sooners - Recap
Tawee Walker scampered through the SMU defense for 117 yards as Oklahoma handed the Mustangs a 28-11 defeat on Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Sooners were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -16.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 69.5.
Tawee Walker rushed for 117 yards, while Marcus Major added 39 yards in the win. Andrel Anthony and Jalil Farooq added 76 and 33 receiving yards respectively.
Jaylan Knighton rushed for 76 yards for SMU, while LJ Johnson Jr. added 21 yards. Preston Stone threw for 250 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Jake Bailey and Romello Brinson had 73 and 46 yards respectively.
SMU outgained Oklahoma 367-365 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-21 by the Sooners.
SMU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:20-27:40 split in that important category.
Oklahoma looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Tulsa. SMU will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Prairie View.
