Huskies Fall 35-33 Against Toledo - Game Recap
NIU was unable to contain Peny Boone on Saturday and the result was a 35-33 Week 5 loss against the Rockets.
Toledo won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -13.5-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 48.0.
Peny Boone rushed for 113 yards, while Jacquez Stuart added 79 yards in the win. Junior Vandeross III and Jerjuan Newton added 147 and 51 receiving yards respectively.
Antario Brown rushed for 152 yards for NIU, while Rocky Lombardi added 26 yards. Rocky Lombardi threw for 258 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Kacper Rutkiewicz and Trayvon Rudolph had 45 and 32 yards respectively.
NIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Toledo 542-444 yards in Saturday's game. Toledo had more first downs as that total ended up 23-22.
NIU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:36-29:24 split in that important category.
Next game, Toledo takes its act on the road to face Massachusetts looking for another win. For NIU, they head on the road to face Akron.
