Seminoles vs Hokies Final: 39-17 - Recap
Florida State got a 200-yard performance from Trey Benson as a key part of its 39-17 victory over the Hokies on Saturday at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Florida State did not, however, defeat the Hokies against the spread, which closed at -24.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 52.5.
Trey Benson rushed for 200 yards, while Lawrance Toafili added 50 yards in the win. Johnny Wilson and Destyn Hill added 54 and 30 receiving yards respectively.
Kyron Drones rushed for 80 yards for Virginia Tech, while Malachi Thomas added 58 yards. Kyron Drones threw for 104 yards for the Hokies, while receivers Jaylin Lane and Bhayshul Tuten had 51 and 25 yards respectively.
Florida State outgained Virginia Tech 452-313 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 20-19 by the Seminoles.
Florida State lost the time of possession battle 31:16-28:44, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Florida State heads into a Week 7 battle against Syracuse. Virginia Tech, meanwhile, will have their next action against Wake Forest.
