Recap - Rockets Defeat Ball State 13-6
The Cardinals had no answer for Peny Boone on Saturday as the Rockets rolled to a 13-6 win at Scheumann Stadium.
Toledo did not, however, defeat the Cardinals against the spread, which closed at -17.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 48.5.
Peny Boone rushed for 148 yards, while Willie Shaw III added 35 yards in the win. Junior Vandeross III and Jerjuan Newton added 49 and 44 receiving yards respectively.
Kiael Kelly rushed for 98 yards for Ball State, while Marquez Cooper added 60 yards. Kiael Kelly threw for 38 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Ahmad Edwards and Tanner Koziol had 38 and 0 yards respectively.
Toledo outgained Ball State 376-205 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 20-13 by the Rockets.
Ball State lost the time of possession battle 30:18-29:42, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Toledo takes its act on the road to face Miami-OH looking for another win. For Ball State, they head home to face Central Michigan.
