Scarlet Knights vs Hoosiers Final: 31-14 - Recap
Gavin Wimsatt tore up the turf for 143 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Scarlet Knights to a 31-14 win over the Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium.
The Scarlet Knights were a -6.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 39.5.
Gavin Wimsatt rushed for 143 yards, while Kyle Monangai added 109 yards in the win. Christian Dremel and Ja'shon Benjamin added 14 and 11 receiving yards respectively.
Trent Howland rushed for 54 yards for Indiana, while Brendan Sorsby added 49 yards. Brendan Sorsby threw for 126 yards for the Hoosiers, while receivers Omar Cooper Jr. and DeQuece Carter had 35 and 21 yards respectively.
Rutgers outgained Indiana 315-279 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 20-18 by the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 37:38-22:22 split in that important category.
Next game, Rutgers takes its act home to face Ohio State looking for another win. For Indiana, they head on the road to face Penn State.
