Huskies Down Holy Cross 27-20 - Match Report

The Crusaders had no answer for Nate Hopkins on Thursday as the Huskies rolled to a 27-20 win at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.

UCONN did not, however, defeat the Crusaders against the spread, which closed at -21.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 59.0.

Nate Hopkins rushed for 130 yards, while David Pindell added 33 yards in the win. Hergy Mayala and Arkeel Newsome added 106 and 44 receiving yards respectively.

Domenic Cozier rushed for 42 yards for Holy Cross, while Gabe Guild added 32 yards. Peter Pujals threw for 358 yards for the Crusaders, while receivers Blaise Bell and Richie DeNicola had 129 and 87 yards respectively.

UCONN was outgained by Holy Cross 447-438 yards in Thursday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 24-18 by the Crusaders.

UCONN lost the time of possession battle 28:41-26:49, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
