Stanford Defeats Arizona State 34-24 - Recap
Arizona State was unable to contain Bryce Love on Saturday and the result was a 34-24 Week 5 loss against the Cardinal.
Stanford did not, however, defeat the Sun Devils against the spread, which closed at -16.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 59.0.
Bryce Love rushed for 301 yards, while Jake Bailey added 17 yards in the win. JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Dalton Schultz added 63 and 46 receiving yards respectively.
Demario Richard rushed for 80 yards for Arizona State, while Kyle Williams added 65 yards. N'Keal Harry threw for 14 yards for the Sun Devils, while receivers Demario Richard and Jalen Harvey had 57 and 43 yards respectively.
Arizona State was outgained by Stanford 501-409 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-17 by the Sun Devils.
Stanford lost the time of possession battle 32:15-27:45, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Stanford takes its act on the road to face Utah looking for another win. For Arizona State, they head home to face Washington.
