Kansas State Defeats Kansas 30-20 - Recap

The Jayhawks had no answer for Alex Barnes on Saturday as the Wildcats rolled to a 30-20 win at Memorial Stadium-Lawrence.

Kansas State did not, however, defeat the Jayhawks against the spread, which closed at -24.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 55.5.

Alex Barnes rushed for 128 yards, while Skylar Thompson added 39 yards in the win. Byron Pringle and Isaiah Zuber added 92 and 30 receiving yards respectively.

Khalil Herbert rushed for 33 yards for Kansas, while Carter Stanley added 23 yards. Carter Stanley threw for 418 yards for the Jayhawks, while receivers Steven Sims and Tyler Patrick had 233 and 72 yards respectively.

Kansas State lost the offensive yardage battle to Kansas 482-340 yards in Saturday's game. Kansas had more first downs as that total ended up 20-15.

Kansas lost the time of possession battle 31:05-28:55, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Kansas State takes its act on the road to face Texas Tech looking for another win. For Kansas, they head home to face Baylor.
