Tigers vs Golden Hurricane Final: 47-21 - Recap
Darrell Henderson tore up the turf for 166 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Tigers to a 47-21 win over the Golden Hurricane at Liberty Bowl.
Bettors who backed the Tigers were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -16.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 64.5.
Darrell Henderson rushed for 166 yards, while Patrick Taylor Jr. added 96 yards in the win. Damonte Coxie and Tony Pollard added 110 and 53 receiving yards respectively.
Corey Taylor II rushed for 117 yards for Tulsa, while Shamari Brooks added 23 yards. Seth Boomer threw for 140 yards for the Golden Hurricane, while receivers Justin Hobbs and Keylon Stokes had 59 and 42 yards respectively.
Tulsa lost the offensive yardage battle to Memphis 499-252 yards in Saturday's game. Memphis had more first downs as that total ended up 26-16.
Tulsa lost the time of possession battle 31:06-28:54, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Memphis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against SMU. Tulsa will aim to get back on the winning track at Navy.
