Zips Fall 27-7 Against Eastern Michigan - Game Recap

The battle between the Eagles and Zips didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Akron was handed a 27-7 defeat on Saturday at Rynearson Stadium.

Eastern Michigan was a favorite by -11.0 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 41.5.

Ian Eriksen rushed for 96 yards, while Breck Turner added 44 yards in the win. Mathew Sexton and Blake Banham added 55 and 27 receiving yards respectively.

Van Edwards, Jr. rushed for 53 yards for Akron, while Deltron Sands added 25 yards. Alex Ramart threw for 29 yards for the Zips, while receivers Kwadarrius Smith and Andre Williams had 22 and 4 yards respectively.

Eastern Michigan outgained Akron 384-90 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 20-6 by the Eagles.

Eastern Michigan led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 38:19-21:32 split in that important category.

Eastern Michigan heads into a Week 13 battle against Kent State. Akron, meanwhile, will have their next action against Bowling Green.
