SMU Falls 28-18 to Tigers - Recap

Patrick Taylor Jr. scampered through the SMU defense for 112 yards as Memphis handed the Mustangs a 28-18 defeat on Friday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

The Tigers were a -8.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 74.5.

Patrick Taylor Jr. rushed for 112 yards, while Darrell Henderson added 75 yards in the win. Damonte Coxie and Kedarian Jones added 90 and 48 receiving yards respectively.

Braeden West rushed for 20 yards for SMU, while Ke'Mon Freeman added 12 yards. Ben Hicks threw for 344 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers James Proche and Reggie Roberson Jr. had 134 and 116 yards respectively.

SMU lost the offensive yardage battle to Memphis 434-366 yards in Friday's game. SMU had more first downs as that total ended up 25-21.

The time of possession battle favored SMU as their offense was on the field for 31:49, longer than the 28:11 of their opponents.

Memphis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Houston. SMU will aim to get back on the winning track at Tulsa.
