Scarlet Knights Fall 20-7 Against Penn State - Game Recap
The Scarlet Knights came up short against the Nittany Lions in Week 12 action on Saturday, falling 20-7 at High Point Solutions Stadium.
Penn State did not, however, defeat the Scarlet Knights against the spread, which closed at -28.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 53.0.
Miles Sanders rushed for 88 yards, while Trace McSorley added 39 yards in the win. KJ Hamler and Jahan Dotson added 71 and 58 receiving yards respectively.
Raheem Blackshear rushed for 102 yards for Rutgers, while Isaih Pacheco added 53 yards. Giovanni Rescigno threw for 28 yards for the Scarlet Knights, while receivers Bo Melton and Shameen Jones had 29 and 11 yards respectively.
Rutgers was outgained by Penn State 322-234 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 19-17 by the Nittany Lions.
Penn State lost the time of possession battle 32:18-27:42, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Penn State heads into a 13 battle against Maryland. Rutgers, meanwhile, will have their next action against Michigan State.
