Clemson Defeats South Carolina 56-35 - Recap

Trevor Lawrence's 393-yard performance through the air was the key in Clemson's 56-35 win over South Carolina on Saturday at Memorial Stadium-Clemson.

Clemson did not, however, defeat the Gamecocks against the spread, which closed at -25.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 58.5.

Trevor Lawrence completed 27 of 36 pass attempts for 393 yards for the Tigers in the win.

Mon Denson rushed for 62 yards for South Carolina, while Rico Dowdle added 49 yards. Jake Bentley threw for 510 yards for the Gamecocks, while receivers Deebo Samuel and Shi Smith had 210 and 109 yards respectively.

South Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to Clemson 744-600 yards in Saturday's game. Clemson had more first downs as that total ended up 38-29.

South Carolina lost the time of possession battle 34:51-25:09, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Clemson looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Pittsburgh. South Carolina will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Akron.
