Cardinal Down UCLA 49-42 - Match Report

K.J. Costello sliced and diced the Bruins defense for 344 yards as Stanford handed UCLA a 49-42 defeat on Saturday at Rose Bowl.

Stanford won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -6.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 60.5.

K.J. Costello completed 23 of 37 pass attempts for 344 yards for the Cardinal in the win.

Joshua Kelley rushed for 55 yards for UCLA, while Martell Irby added 47 yards. Wilton Speight threw for 466 yards for the Bruins, while receivers Caleb Wilson and Theo Howard had 184 and 88 yards respectively.

Stanford lost the offensive yardage battle to UCLA 528-470 yards in Saturday's game. UCLA had more first downs as that total ended up 31-24.

The time of possession battle favored Stanford as their offense was on the field for 31:09, longer than the 28:51 of their opponents.
