Washington Defeats Miami 17-16 - Recap
Adrian Peterson tore up the turf for 118 rushing yards on Sunday to lead the Redskins to a 17-16 win over the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.
Washington did not, however, defeat the Dolphins against the spread, which closed at -5.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 42.0.
Adrian Peterson rushed for 118 yards, while Chris Thompson added 12 yards in the win. Terry McLaurin and Jeremy Sprinkle added 100 and 24 receiving yards respectively.
Kenyan Drake rushed for 40 yards for Miami, while Mark Walton added 32 yards. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 132 yards for the Dolphins, while receivers Mike Gesicki and Mark Walton had 51 and 43 yards respectively.
Miami was outgained by Washington 311-271 yards in Sunday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-13 by the Dolphins.
Miami led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:39-27:21 split in that important category.
Washington heads into a Week 7 battle against the 49ers. Miami, meanwhile, will have their next action against Buffalo.
