Recap - Commanders Defeat Arizona 20-16

The Commanders were Week 1 winners on Sunday, coming out on top of the Cardinals by a score of 20-16 at FedEx Field.

Washington won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -7.0-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 38.0.

Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 59 yards, while Sam Howell added 11 yards in the win. Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas added 54 and 43 receiving yards respectively.

James Conner rushed for 62 yards for Arizona, while Marquise Brown added 29 yards. Joshua Dobbs threw for 132 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Rondale Moore and Marquise Brown had 33 and 28 yards respectively.

Arizona lost the offensive yardage battle to Washington 248-210 yards in Sunday's game. Washington had more first downs as that total ended up 21-13.

Arizona lost the time of possession battle 31:24-28:36, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Washington takes its act on the road to face Denver looking for another win. For Arizona, they head home to face New York.
