Ottawa Falls 5-3 to Maple Leafs - Recap

Auston Matthews was the difference, potting a pair for Toronto on Wednesday as the Maple Leafs skated off with a 5-3 victory over the Senators at Scotiabank Arena.

Toronto got goals from Auston Matthews(2), Ilya Mikheyev, Trevor Moore, and Frederik Gauthier in the victory. Gauthier opened the scoring at 2:20 of the second period.

Brady Tkachuk, Bobby Ryan, and Scott Sabourin scored for the Senators, finding the net behind Frederik Andersen.

Craig Anderson stopped 37 of 42 shots for the Senators, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Toronto went 1-for-5, while the Senators were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Toronto outshot Ottawa 42-26 in the game.

Next game, Toronto takes its act on the road to face Columbus looking for another win. For Ottawa, they head home to face NY Rangers.
