Capitals vs Canucks Final: 6-5 - Recap

Washington earned a 6-5 victory over Vancouver on Friday, but needed a shootout to do it at Rogers Arena.

Evgeny Kuznetsov(2), Michal Kempny(2), and Lars Eller each scored for the Capitals in the victory. Kuznetsov opened the scoring for Washington.

Ilya Samsonov turned in a 29-save effort for the Capitals.

Tim Schaller(2), Jake Virtanen, Brock Boeser, and Elias Pettersson scored for the Canucks, finding the net behind Ilya Samsonov.

Vancouver got a 24-stop effort from Jacob Markstrom in the loss.

On the power play, Washington went 0-for-2, while the Canucks were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Washington lost the shots on goal battle to Vancouver by a margin of 34-29.

Next game, Washington takes its act on the road to face Toronto looking for another win. For Vancouver, they head home to face Florida.
