Carolina Skates Past Buffalo 5-4 - Recap

The Hurricanes earned a 5-4 victory over the Sabres on Thursday at KeyBank Center.

The Hurricanes were a -128 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 6.0.

Andrei Svechnikov, Jordan Staal, Sebastian Aho, Dougie Hamilton, and Teuvo Teravainen each scored for the Hurricanes in the victory. Staal opened the scoring for Carolina.

Petr Mrazek turned in a 29-save effort for the Hurricanes.

Buffalo got goals from Jeff Skinner, Henri Jokiharju, Curtis Lazar, and Johan Larsson in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Carter Hutton stopped 24 of 29 shots for the Sabres, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Carolina went 2-for-3, while the Sabres were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Carolina lost the shots on goal battle to Buffalo by a margin of 33-29.

Next game, Carolina takes its act on the road to face Minnesota looking for another win. For Buffalo, they head home to face Ottawa.
