Washington Skates Past Colorado 3-2 - Recap

The Avalanche came up short Thursday against the Capitals, falling 3-2.

Andre Burakovsky, and Mikko Rantanen scored for the Avalanche, finding the net behind Braden Holtby.

Colorado got a 35-stop effort from Philipp Grubauer in the loss.

On the power play, Washington went 2-for-5, while the Avalanche were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

Colorado lost the shots on goal battle to Washington by a margin of 38-34.

Next game, Washington takes its act on the road to face Arizona looking for another win. For Colorado, they head home to face Los Angeles.
