Las Vegas - If you missed my hot dog rant a few days ago, it's July 4th and that means the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island. Yea, Joey Chestnut is the Babe Ruth/Wayne Gretzky/Michael Jordan/Jim Brown of dogs. Yea, Jaws has 13 Mustard Belts and is looking for number 14. Yea, Chestnut is an OVERWHELMING favorite, bet $5,000 to win back $100, so you gotta turn to the props.

The Over/Under is 73.5 dogs. Joey swallowed 75 last year. Don't think that I have eaten 75 hot dogs is my ENTIRE LIFE! Also got an O/U for the first five minutes at 45.5 dogs, and O/U 9.5 dogs in the first minute of the competition. If you wanna throw down some relish on the exact amount of dogs Chestnut eats, you might be able to make a few bucks. Anywhere from 0-65 dogs is 15/1, 65/66 is 14/1, 67/68 is 12/1, 69/70 is 5/1, 71/72 is 3/1, 73/74 is 5/2 and 75 or more is 3/2. And if you have not watched this glorious spectacle, check out the emcee with the straw hat, George Shea. He is EXTRAORDINARY!!! Oh yea, we're UNDER 73.5 dogs!!!

The NBA hardwood is getting a manicure, the NHL ice is getting groomed, both are dark till tomorrow, so that leaves baseball, and of course, a little apple pie and fireworks. And we'll try the Brewers with Freddy Peralta over the Pirates. If you're wondering why Milwaukee is sitting on top of the National League Central, Peralta is one of the main reasons. Freddy is rolling at 7-2 with a gorgeous 2.17 ERA, while Pittsburgh's Tim Anderson has not won a game since May 9. Gotta have the Brew Crew for the money, and, you can BOOK IT!!!
