man city

Las Vegas - All the action is in England at the moment, so, we're gonna roll up to Manchester, and look at City vs. Newcastle. Obviously, as the odds suggest, this is one of the biggest MISMATCHES of the year in the Premier League. City is -$1000 to win back a lousy $100. Betting on that would require a deep brain scan to see what is going on up in the frontal lobe, so, we'll look for alternatives in a minute.

Manchester City is sitting cozy in the second spot on 66 points, with 21 wins, 9 losses and 3 draws. They've scored a league BEST 81 goals (Liverpool is next with 72) and allowed 34 for an amazing +47 goal differential. Newcastle is sitting in the 12th slot on 43 points, with 11 wins, 12 losses and 10 draws. The Magpies, more in a second, have scored 35 goals and allowed 45 for an ugly -10 goal differential.

Okay, Magpies. The nickname comes from the famous black & white club colors, as well as the bird which is also black & white. Local legend says that a couple of magpies moved to the northern stand of the stadium and that brought luck to the club with winning trophies. Not gonna argue with some legend that goes back 100 years.

So, how are we gonna make some money? You absolutely came to the right place. Gonna take City to win the 1st half at ONLY -$250. That's a STEAL!!! You can wager various different Over/Under goal props, and we're gonna take OVER 2.5 goals at right around -$280. If the Citizens are ready to roll and rock the party after eating a 1-0 bagel at Southampton, then you gotta take 'em to win the 1st half and the 2nd half at basically even money (-$110).

My horse guy, Martin Calia, is asking everyone to wake up early, 7:05 EST, or REAL early, 4:05 PST, for a look at the Japan Derby. Talk to us Marty.

"I usually pay attention to the Japan Derby because there are always points awarded to earn a spot in the Kentucky Derby. This year, I think Japan will send over a horse who actually has a chance to do some damage if he makes it to Churchill Downs on September 5th. The name of the horse is Cafe Pharoah. That's right, a son of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. Cafe is a perfect 3 for 3 and already has earned 70 points in Japan by winning the Grade 3 Hyacinth Stakes (30 points) and the Grade 3 Unicorn (40 points). In the Hyacinth, Cafe broke slow from the gate and was last in a field of 14. He rallied from dead last to win easy. In the Unicorn, he was close to the pace and dominated the field in the stretch. If he wins the Japan Derby, he will earn another 40 points and surely be sent here for the running of the roses. So, if you're an early riser, grab a cup of Cafe and start your day off right! It's scheduled as the 11th race of the day at Oi Racecourse in Tokyo.

The bet is #2 Cafe Pharoah, $50 win and place and a $5 exacta, wheel #2 with all.

Please check the program for the name Cafe Pharoah. He is listed as the #2 horse, but check your bets as you always should.

An added note, the last Kentucky Derby pool had him as a separate entry at 14-1."
