You know how much I LOVE polka dots...

The Conference of Champions, as Bill Walton keeps reminding us, will the decide the conference champion this evening in a rematch from an early September game. Stanford played at USC on September 9, just two weeks after coming back from a game against Rice on the other side of the world, Sydney, Australia. Not blaming jet lag, or anything else, but the Trojans smacked the Cardinal hard, 42-24, in Los Angeles. A loss to San Diego State the following week, then Stanford ran off eight wins in its last nine games. You don’t get to see the Cardinal as an underdog that often, but they are 2-1 this season, and 11-3 the last seven years. This game is at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, just 14 miles down the road from the Stanford campus, which creates a mini-home field edge. And finally, the revenge factor from the early loss to the Trojans should be enough to keep Stanford (+4) within a field goal, and maybe even pull off the upset.
