Las Vegas - Before you get too excited about Wake Forest coming into the game against Virginia with a 3-0 record, lemme hit you with this. The Demon Deacons beat Old Dominion, Norfolk State and Florida State. Not exactly Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State. And guess what? The Cavaliers offense is gobbling up more yards than any of those teams. Virginia is #5 on the national offensive charts, averaging 559 yards per game, mostly on the right arm of Brennan Armstrong. In his junior year, Armstrong is LIGHTING it up, hitting on 87 of 121 (72%) for 1,298 yards and 11 TDs in just three games. And if you're looking at last year's score at Wake, a 40-23 win for the home team, note that my guy Armstrong DID NOT play for UVA. Not gonna go crazy because the Deacons can also put points on the board, but will push a small handful of chips in on the Cavs.

Normally, we would try to avoid teams that have already clinched a playoff spot, but gotta get a taste of the Brewers tonight. Milwaukee is in the playoffs, and barring a MONUMENTAL collapse, like losing every game, the Central Division crown will fit perfectly. Don't think the Brew Crew are gonna go into a shell because Craig Counsell will not allow it. And they send Eric Lauer to the hill, a pitcher that is impossible to ignore. Lauer has been SENSATIONAL in his last four starts, allowing only 3 earned runs over 24 innings for a VERY thin 1.13 ERA. Sadly, the Mets have played their way OUT of the playoffs after losing seven of the last eight. Gonna grab a brew or two and the BREW CREW for the money!
