Las Vegas - Before we get to the NBA hardwood, bot a little horse racing action from my MAIN guy, Martin Calia. Looks like the air quality has improved, Belmont is open and Marty has a play in the 6th race. The bet is # 5 Dream Shake. We haven't seen Shake since last year but he returns with a few new wrinkles. He has a new trainer in Michael Stidham who is 23% when a horse debuts for his barn, returns as a gelding, and adds lasix for this race.

Las Vegas - Miami wins the game when Miami wins the 1st quarter. Check it out. On Wednesday night, the Heat and Nuggets were tied at 24-24 at the end of the 1st Q. Miami lost. In game two, the Heat won the 1st Q 26-23 and won the game. In the opening game, the Heat lost the 1st Q 29-20, and guess what, lost the game. In game seven against the Celtics, the Heat won the 1st Q 103-84 and sent Boston to the golf course.

Las Vegas - Skating down to Florida where the temps are perfect for hockey, like 80+ degrees, and taking a look at some first period action. If the Panthers are ever gonna get rolling, it MUST be the first period of game three. They'll have the home crowd going ballistic and if they can't set the tone early, it'll be a long night at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise. So, the Panthers are a small favorite to win the 1st period at around -$120. We're taking a taste.

Las Vegas - Back in Miami and the home team is a 2.5 point underdog. You gonna bite Eck? Hmmmmm. Think I'll probably take a taste of a 4th quarter wager. Got three plans. If the Heat are ahead, and ahead BIGLY, like by 15 points or more, the wallet stays closed. If the game is close, say within five points either way, then it's a small taste of Miami. If the Heat are losing by more than five points, then we put a Big Bang on Spo and his kids.
