Las Vegas - Still think that the Nuggets are gonna lift the Larry O'Brien Trophy, but gotta throw some love & a handful of chips at the Heat tonight. A few reasons. Totally understand that NO ONE is gonna stop Nikola Jokic and probably Jamal Murray. But after looking at the box score from game one, here's what I have. Miami was down 84-63 entering the 4th quarter, and wound up outscoring Denver 30-20. And that was WITH Jokic and Murray still on the floor.

Las Vegas - Start the day down in Texas with a taste of the Rangers over the Mariners. Andrew Heaney goes to the hill for the kids from Texas and after yo-yoing for the first month and a half of the season, he seems to have found something. In his last three starts, Heaney has thrown 19 innings and allowed only 2 earned runs for an almost invisible 0.95 ERA. Texas is sitting in 1st place in the A.L. West at 35-20 (not including last night) and should be able to drop another L on Seattle.

Las Vegas - Gonna roll out an MLB pick in a minute, but first, a look at what the Nevada casinos won in April. Once again, Penny slots led the charge winning $275.9 million, followed by Blackjack with $94.9 mill, Baccarat cleared $44.1, Craps $40.6, Roulette $34.3 and as usual, at the bottom of the barrel, Sports limped home with $32.4 million.

Las Vegas - Which side are you on? A team that just came off a scintillating game seven win against the Celtics? Or, a team that has had NINE days rest to heal some nicks & bruises? Whew. Lemme throw some regular season stats at you first. In the first meeting out in Denver, the Nuggets (-4.5) grabbed a 124-119 win, covering by the hook, and went Over the posted total of 224.5. In the second game down in Miami, the Nuggets (+1) picked up a 112-108 victory, and the total went Over 217.5.

Las Vegas - Okay. No hoops till Thursday and no ice till Saturday. Looked over each MLB game and didn't find anything that called my name. It's a hall pass for today.
