Las Vegas - Wonder why the sportsbook directors are ALWAYS happy? According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the guys behind the counter pocketed $52.4 million in revenues during January. That's a GINORMOUS 159.9% increase from a year ago and the fourth-highest single-month revenue total of all time. Sports bets totaled $645.5 million, a 28.8% increase.

Las Vegas - Tom Izzo's Michigan State team might not go dancing for the first time in 23 years. Izzo took over in East Lansing in 1995/96 and his first two teams played in the NIT Tournament. After that, they NEVER MISSED the NCCA party. Sitting at 12-9, the Spartans need to sweep the board, but it ain't gonna be easy. After Ohio State, they have Maryland away, Indiana at home, then a double dose of Michigan. If they win four of five, they should be in.

Las Vegas - BUONGIORNO! Yea, heading to Italy and looking at the UEFA Champions League match between Atalanta and Real Madrid. And yes, it's ATALANTA, not Atlanta. It's a 113 year old club based in Bergamo, just a few clicks north of Milan. With a nickname like La Dea, The Goddess, how could you not look at this club. These kids from Bergamo know how to find the net. They've scored 53 goals in Serie A and allowed just 31 for a gorgeous +22 goal differential.

Las Vegas - Looking at the Big 12 tonight and gonna roll with Kansas over Texas. Bill Self has done an AMAZING job in Lawrence the last 17 years, winning a RIDONKULOUS 15 conference crowns and a national title. Self's winning percentage at Kansas is WICKED-GOOD at .817. He does not lose very often, and rarely at the storied Allen Fieldhouse. But it was Phoggy that night (see what I did there) as the Longhorns posted a GIGANTIC 84-59 BLOWOUT.
