aztecs
----------------------------------------------------
Las Vegas - Understand that the Mountain West ain't showing out at the Big Dance, but this San Diego State team is a cut above the rest. Of course you remember that the Aztecs made it ALL the way to the title game last year before losing to Connecticut in the final, 76-59. And if you remember, they had a tough opening round game against Charleston, winning 63-57. Then they came back in the second round and whacked Furman, 75-52. Similar situation here where State struggled with UAB in the opening round on Friday before pulling out a 69-65 win. Gotta give props to Yale for the GINORMOUS upset against Auburn, but the Bulldogs will not have enough bark to get past San Diego. They caught a break when Auburn's guard Chad Baker-Mazara was whistled for a Flagrant 2 after just three minutes of action and disqualified for the rest of the game. Another problem for Yale is the fact that the Aztecs do not mind a slower paced game while Auburn liked to play run 'n' gun with games in the 80s and 90s. We have one more problem with Yale. The University has an endowment north of $40 BILLION DOLLARS. And they could not afford to send the band to Spokane for the weekend. C'MON! The Idaho University band was given Yale t-shirts, learned the fight song, and played for the entire game. Mr. Salovey (he is the president of Yale), you should be EMBARRASSED! This obviously has no affect on my handicap. Just blowing off a little steam. And also throwing a nice size handful of chips at the Aztecs.
