NFL Week 17 Betting Preview

The drive for the final playoff spots continues in Week 17 of the NFL season, but on Saturday two teams that have already clinched playoff spots face off when the Dallas Cowboys host the Detroit Lions.

At the Bovada Sportsbook the Cowboys are 6-point home favorites. Dallas is 10-5 straight up and 9-6 against the spread following last week’s 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins as 1.5-point underdogs. At home the Cowboys have won 15 straight with a 12-3 ATS record, and when favored they’ve won eight straight at 7-1 ATS.

Detroit is 11-4 SU and 10-5 ATS after last week’s 30-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings as 2.5-point favorites. The Lions have been a sold road wager lately at 7-2 SU and ATS in their last nine. As an underdog they’re 7-1 ATS in their last eight.

Last season Dallas defeated Detroit 24-6 as 7-point favorites. In this matchup Dallas has won five straight with a 3-2 ATS record.

Buccaneers home favorites taking on the Saints

On Sunday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can clinch the NFC South title with a win when they face the New Orleans Saints as 3-point home favorites.

The Buccaneers are 8-7 SU and 10-5 ATS and are coming off a 30-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars as 2-point underdogs. The Bucs have won four straight with a 3-1 ATS record, and they’re 7-2 ATS in their last nine. When favored the Buccaneers are 6-1 SU and 3-4 ATS in their last seven.

The Saints are 7-8 SU and 4-10-1 ATS after last week’s 30-22 loss to the Los Angeles Rams as 4-point favorites. They’ve lost three straight on the road both SU and ATS, and they’re 2-5 SU and ATS in their last seven road games.

In Week 4 Tampa Bay defeated New Orleans 26-9 as 4.5-point road underdogs. In their last five games in Tampa Bay the Saints are 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS.

Bills heavy chalk in matchup against the Patriots

In the AFC East on Sunday the Buffalo Bills look to hold on to a playoff spot when they host the New England Patriots as 12-point favorites.

Buffalo is 9-6 SU and 6-9 ATS after last week’s close 24-22 win over the Los Angeles Chargers as 12.5-point favorites. The Bills have won three straight at 2-1 ATS and when listed as double-digit favorites they’re 9-1 SU and 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10, which includes six straight losses ATS.

New England is 4-11 SU and 4-10-1 ATS and is coming off a 26-23 upset win over the Denver Broncos as 7-point underdogs. The Patriots has won their last two road games both SU and ATS, and in their last 10 on the road they’re 4-6 SU and ATS.

In Week 7 New England defeated Buffalo 29-25 as 7.5-point home underdogs. In their last 10 games in Buffalo the Patriots are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS.

Bengals underdogs in contest against the Chiefs

Finally, on Sunday the Cincinnati Bengals must win to keep their playoff chances alive when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs as 7-point underdogs.

The Bengals are 8-7 SU and 6-7-2 ATS following last week’s 34-11 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers as 3-point favorites. That snapped the Bengals' three-game winning streak during which they were 2-0-1 ATS. As underdogs the Bengals are 5-5 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10.

The Chiefs are 9-6 SU and ATS after last week’s 20-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders as 11-point favorites. The Chiefs are 1-3 SU and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games, and at home they’ve lost three in a row both SU and ATS.

Last season in the playoffs the Chiefs defeated the Bengals 23-20 as 2-point favorites. In the last four games in this matchup the Bengals are 3-1 SU and ATS.
