NFL Week 5 Betting Preview

Week 5 of the NFL season begins on Thursday night with the winless Chicago Bears visiting the Washington Commanders.

At the Bovada Sportsbook the Commanders are 6-point home favorites. Washington is 2-2 straight up and against the spread following last week’s 34-31 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles as 8.5-point underdogs. When favored Washington has lost four straight ATS, and they’ve been a strong UNDER play with a 6-0-1 UNDER record in their last seven games.

Chicago is 0-4 SU and 0-3-1 ATS after last week’s 31-28 loss to Denver as 3-point underdogs. The Bears have lost 14 straight with a 2-11-1 ATS record. On the road Chicago is 1-10 SU And 2-9 ATS in its last 11 games.

Last season Washington edged Chicago 12-7 as 1-point favorites. The Commanders have won nine straight against the Bears with a 7-2 ATS record.

Ravens are road favorites against the Steelers

On Sunday AFC North division rivals will clash when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Pittsburgh Steelers as 3.5-point road favorites.

The Ravens crushed the Cleveland Browns 28-3 as 1.5-point favorites last week to improve to 3-1 SU and ATS. The Ravens have been a good wager on the road at 4-1 ATS in their last five games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine.

The Steelers didn’t show up in their 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans as 3-point favorites last week. Despite that loss and their 2-2 SU and ATS record this season the Steelers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games. As a home underdog they’re 7-3 SU and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games.

Last season the Ravens and Steelers split the series 1-1 SU and ATS with the road team winning each game. The Steelers are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six games versus the Ravens and as an underdog against them they’ve won four straight.

Niners chalk versus Cowboys on Sunday night

On Sunday night bettors get a playoff rematch when the San Francisco 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys as 3.5-point favorites.

The 49ers are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS following last week’s 35-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals as 14.5-point favorites. San Francisco is 16-1 SU and 13-4 ATS in its last 17 games. At home they’ve won 10 in a row SU and nine straight ATS.

Dallas is 3-1 SU and ATS after crushing the New England Patriots 38-3 as 6-point favorites last week. The Cowboys have been tough in October lately with a 9-1 record SU and ATS in their last 10 games in the month.

Last season in the playoffs San Francisco defeated Dallas 19-12 as 3.5-point favorites. The 49ers have won their last two games versus the Cowboys, but in the last 10 matchups Dallas is 6-4 SU and 4-4-2 ATS.

Raiders host Packers on Monday Night Football

Week 5 then concludes Monday night with the Green Bay Packers at the Las Vegas Raiders as 2-point road favorites.

Green Bay is 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS after last week’s 34-20 loss to the Detroit Lions as 2.5-point underdogs. On the road the Packers are 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in their last four games, but as road favorites they’re 1-5 ATS in their last six.

The Raiders dropped to 1-3 SU and ATS last week after losing to the Los Angeles Chargers 24-17 as 6.5-point underdogs. The Raiders are 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games and have dropped three in a row at home.

In this matchup the Packers have won eight straight games with a 7-1 ATS record.
