Las Vegas - Start out up Minnesota where we're banking on the Twins with Joe Ryan over the A's. Ryan should have no trouble with Oakland after looking very sharp in three of his last four outings. And Minny's bats should have no trouble against A's starter Luis Medina who owns a 3-11 record over the last two years with a fat ERA of 5.40. Twinkies for the money.
Lacing up the skates and heading to Edmonton for game three of the Stanley Cup and gotta throw some chips at the Oilers. Edmonton is looking to avoid an 0-3 hole, or as most people in hockey call it, a death sentence. Coming back from 0-3 has only been done four times and the NHL has been around for OVER 100 years. Call it a MUST WIN. Call me Captain Obvious. The Oilers have lost two in a row only once in the playoffs, to Dallas, and they responded with a solid 5-2 win at home the very next game. Also waiting on the status of Florida's best player Aleksander Barkov. After taking an elbow to the head, Barkov has been listed as questionable. The guess is, if it's not a concussion, he should be on the ice because he IS a hockey player. And his value is ENORMOUS. He won the Frank Selke Trophy which goes to the best defensive forward in the NHL and he also averages almost 80 points per season. Barkov has collected 19 points in 19 games so far in the playoffs and if he ain't on the ice, it would be a YUGE hole for the Panthers to fill. So, here's the plan. If Barkov plays, a light tickle to the Oil. If Barkov sits, we bang the Oil for double the amount of chips. Now for the real secret sauce and you'll need to take a ride to Prop City. We researched every Edmonton playoff game in 2024, specifically the 1st period, and discovered a GEM. The Oilers have played 20 games so far in the playoffs, and have won the 1st period 10 times, lost twice and tied eight. You can shop around, but here are a few ballpark prices. You can get around +$185 on Edmonton to win the 1st period and we're buying. If you like a tie at the end of 20 minutes, you'll be looking at around +$145.
