Hampton Downs Winthrop 87-81 - Match Report
Winthrop was burned for 31 points by Ben Stanley on Saturday as Hampton picked up a 87-81 win at Winthrop Coliseum.
Jermaine Marrow had 23 points for Hampton and Davion Warren chipped in with 18 points. Jermaine Marrow had 6 assists for them, while Davion Warren was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 11 boards.
Winthrop got 19 points from D.J. Burns in a losing cause and another 18 points from Hunter Hale. Hunter Hale contributed 4 assists for them, while Chandler Vaudrin had 10 rebounds.
Hampton led at halftime, 43-30.
Hampton won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 37-32.
Hampton looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Radford. Winthrop will aim to get back on the winning track at USC Upstate.
