Nate Calmese scored 20 points leading Lamar to a 69-66 victory over Nicholls State at Montagne Center on Thursday.
Jakevion Buckley had 9 points for Lamar and Jason Thirdkill Jr. chipped in with 8 points. Chris Pryor had 6 assists for them, while Cody Pennebaker was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards.
Nicholls State got 12 points from Latrell Jones in a losing cause and another 11 points from Micah Thomas. Caleb Huffman contributed 3 assists for them, while Manny Littles had 14 rebounds.
Lamar was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
