Recap - Temple Defeats Rice 73-70
Jamal Mashburn Jr. scored 24 points leading Temple to a 73-70 victory over Rice at Tudor Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Temple won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +1.0-point spread as underdogs.
Temple got 11 points from Babatunde Durodola and another 11 points from Quante Berry. Jamal Mashburn Jr. contributed 1 assists, while Shane Dezonie cleaned the glass with 15 rebounds.
Rice got 18 points from Andrew Akuchie in a losing cause and another 13 points from Trae Broadnax. Trae Broadnax contributed 5 assists for them, while Andrew Akuchie had 11 rebounds.
Temple led at halftime, 35-32.
Temple had a 43-34 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
