Elks Fall 28-23 Against Toronto - Game Recap

The Elks came up short against the Argonauts in Week 19 action on Saturday, falling 28-23 at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.

Toronto won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -5.5-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 50.5.

A.J. Ouellette rushed for 91 yards, while McLeod Bethel-Thompson added 15 yards in the win. DaVaris Daniels and Kurleigh Gittens Jr. added 80 and 64 receiving yards respectively.

Kevin Brown rushed for 121 yards for Edmonton, while Taylor Cornelius added 51 yards. Taylor Cornelius threw for 185 yards for the Elks, while receivers Derel Walker and Dillon Mitchell had 114 and 29 yards respectively.

Toronto outgained Edmonton 393-364 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-17 by the Elks.

The time of possession battle favored Edmonton as their offense was on the field for 34:33, longer than the 25:27 of their opponents.

Toronto looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Alouettes. The Elks will aim to get back on the winning track vs. British Columbia.
