Tiger-Cats vs Elks Final: 28-24 - Recap
The Tiger-Cats got a 3-TD performance from Bo Levi Mitchell as Hamilton handed Edmonton a 28-24 defeat on Saturday at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.
Hamilton did not, however, defeat the Elks against the spread, which closed at -4.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 56.5.
Bo Levi Mitchell completed 30 of 42 pass attempts for 350 yards and 3 TDs for the Tiger-Cats in the win.
Justin Rankin rushed for 69 yards for Edmonton, while Javon Leake added 26 yards. Cody Fajardo threw for 257 yards for the Elks, while receivers Justin Rankin and Steven Dunbar Jr. had 64 and 62 yards respectively.
Edmonton was outgained by Hamilton 415-377 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-19 by the Tiger-Cats.
Hamilton led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:33-28:27 split in that important category.
Next game, Hamilton takes its act home to face British Columbia looking for another win. For Edmonton, they head on the road to face Montreal.
