Recap - Volunteers Defeat Vanderbilt 42-17

Tennessee won 42-17 on Saturday against Vanderbilt behind a 125-yard receiving performance from Velus Jones Jr. at Vanderbilt Stadium.

The Volunteers were a -15.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 51.0.

Eric Gray rushed for 74 yards, while Ty Chandler added 61 yards in the win. Velus Jones Jr. and Jalin Hyatt added 125 and 81 receiving yards respectively.

Keyon Henry-Brooks rushed for 56 yards for Vanderbilt, while Rocko Griffin Jr. added 10 yards. Ken Seals threw for 239 yards for the Commodores, while receivers Amir Abdur-Rahman and Cam Johnson had 69 and 64 yards respectively.

Vanderbilt lost the offensive yardage battle to Tennessee 540-292 yards in Saturday's game. Tennessee had more first downs as that total ended up 24-16.

Vanderbilt lost the time of possession battle 33:37-26:23, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Tennessee heads into a 16 battle against Texas A&M. Vanderbilt, meanwhile, will have their next action against Georgia.
