Recap - Tigers Defeat North Texas 44-34
The Mean Green came up short against the Tigers in Week 4 action on Saturday, falling 44-34 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
Memphis won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -13.0-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 68.5.
Brandon Thomas rushed for 84 yards, while Seth Henigan added 54 yards in the win. Koby Drake and Caden Prieskorn added 41 and 22 receiving yards respectively.
Oscar Adaway III rushed for 46 yards for North Texas, while Ayo Adeyi added 30 yards. Austin Aune threw for 371 yards for the Mean Green, while receivers Jordan Smart and Ja'Mori Maclin had 82 and 81 yards respectively.
Memphis was outgained by North Texas 473-334 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-19 by the Mean Green.
North Texas lost the time of possession battle 32:45-27:15, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Memphis takes its act home to face Temple looking for another win. For North Texas, they head home to face Florida Atlantic.
