LA Tech Falls 42-41 to Owls - Recap
LA Tech was unable to slow down Luke McCaffrey, who produced 171 receiving yards as the Owls defeated the Bulldogs 42-41 on Saturday.
The Owls won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -2.5-point spread. OVER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an OVER play.
Cameron Montgomery rushed for 87 yards, while TJ McMahon added 67 yards in the win. Luke McCaffrey and Bradley Rozner added 171 and 27 receiving yards respectively.
Marquis Crosby rushed for 87 yards for LA Tech, while Charvis Thornton added 29 yards. Matthew Downing threw for 159 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Tre Harris and Smoke Harris had 92 and 59 yards respectively.
Rice outgained LA Tech 487-373 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 24-19 by the Owls.
LA Tech lost the time of possession battle 33:22-26:38, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Rice looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Charlotte. LA Tech will aim to get back on the winning track at FIU.
