Recap - Jayhawks Defeat Fresno State 31-7

The battle between the Jayhawks and Bulldogs didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Fresno State was handed a 31-7 defeat on Saturday at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Jayhawks were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -13.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 50.0.

Daniel Hishaw Jr. rushed for 69 yards, while Leshon Williams added 57 yards in the win. Cam Pickett and Emmanuel Henderson Jr. added 77 and 24 receiving yards respectively.

Bryson Donelson rushed for 34 yards for Fresno State, while Rayshon Luke added 11 yards. E.J. Warner threw for 179 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Josiah Freeman and Bryson Donelson had 43 and 39 yards respectively.

Fresno State lost the offensive yardage battle to Kansas 383-216 yards in Saturday's game. Kansas had more first downs as that total ended up 22-13.

Kansas led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 33:08-26:52 split in that important category.

Kansas heads into a Week 1 battle against Wagner. Fresno State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Georgia Southern.
