Recap - Bulldogs Defeat Marshall 45-7

Georgia cruised to victory on Saturday, as they ran up a 45-7 score against Marshall in Week 1 action at Sanford Stadium.

Georgia won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -38.5-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 51.0.

Gunner Stockton rushed for 73 yards, while Dwight Phillips Jr. added 60 yards in the win. Zachariah Branch and Oscar Delp added 95 and 33 receiving yards respectively.

Justin Williams-Thomas rushed for 24 yards for Marshall, while Zion Turner added 19 yards. Carlos Del Rio-Wilson threw for 10 yards for the Thundering Herd, while receivers Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw and Antonio Harmon had 58 and 34 yards respectively.

Georgia outgained Marshall 488-207 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 27-7 by the Bulldogs.

The time of possession battle favored Georgia as their offense was on the field for 34:29, longer than the 25:31 of their opponents.

Next game, Georgia takes its act home to face Austin Peay looking for another win. For Marshall, they head home to face Missouri State.
